Many high school girls in the Greater Cincinnati area dream of going to their prom, but financial limitations keep that dream from coming true.
Hundreds of girls have attended their proms thanks to Kenzie’s Closet. Kenzie’s Closet first opened its doors in time for the 2006 prom season. Economically disadvantaged girls from schools throughout Greater Cincinnati, referred to Kenzie’s Closet by a principal, counselor, or social service agency, can schedule an appointment to “shop” for the dress of their dreams at the Kenzie’s Closet boutique — all free of charge.
Kenzie’s Closet was named after Makena “Kenzie” Comisar, a St. Ursula Academy senior who was killed in a single-car accident before she could attend her prom. Kenzie was known for her big heart and generosity.
