Approximately 50 million people worldwide have epilepsy.  The Charlie Foundation aims to make a difference in the lives of children with epilepsy.  When Charlie’s parents realized he was one of hundreds of thousands of children whose families were either not being informed, or being misinformed about dietary therapy, they started The Charlie Foundation.

Jack Schiff, a child with epilepsy, and his family have been deeply affected by the work of the Charlie Foundation. Jack, along with his friends Smith Hickenlooper, Nick French, and his cousin Ben Schiff, got together to design this bow tie. The lightening bolts represent the electrical short-circuit in the brain that causes a seizure.
