In 2001, the Armed Forces Foundation (AFF) was founded by two members of Congress, Duncan Hunter, Sr. and Jim Saxton.
When a wounded warrior arrives at the hospital, the AFF steps in to assist the family in traveling to his or her side and provides lodging while their loved one recovers. Financial assistance is also granted, supplementing income and keeping families in their homes. Committed to benefiting the troops and their families, AFF gives 96% of everything they take in to support their programs.
As they continue to take care of the immediate needs of service members and their families, the AFF also needs continued support to fulfill their mantra, “serving those who serve.”
Signature BowTies were created for the specific branches of the Armed Forces and each design was inspired with the idea that all military members and their families are supported, regardless of rank. Therefore, each military branch and their respective “colors” are represented and incorporate the highest and lowest ranks.
