Located in scenic Eden Park, the Cincinnati Art Museum features an unparalleled art collection of more than 60,000 works spanning 6,000 years. In addition to displaying its own broad collection, the Art Museum also hosts several national and international traveling exhibitions each year.
The Cincinnati Art Museum is one of the oldest art museums in the United States. Founded in 1881, it was the first purpose-built art museum west of the Alleghenies. Its collection of over 60,000 works makes it one of the most comprehensive collections in the Midwest. Museum founders debated locating the museum in Burnet Woods, Eden Park, or downtown Cincinnati on Washington Park. Charles West, the major donor of the early museum, cast his votes in favor of Eden Park, sealing its final location. The Romanesque-revival building designed by Cincinnati architect James W. McLaughlin opened in 1886. A series of additions and renovations have considerably altered the building over its 130-year history.
Inspired by the timeless art collection that is showcased within the Cincinnati Art Museum, the BowTie, which was designed with the idea to reflect the Cincinnati Art Museum logo, is a symbol of timeless taste, sophistication, and self-expression.
With your purchase of a BowTie, you are not only raising awareness, but $10 will be donated to the Cincinnati Art Museum.
