Transitions, Inc. Scarf
Transitions, Inc. was founded in 1969 by a group of citizens concerned about the lack of addiction recovery services for Northern Kentucky’s less fortunate residents. Three of the group’s most committed members were from one family – Virginia, Margaret, & Larry Droege. During 1969, the group gained some supporters and raised some money, but it wasn’t enough to start a new residential treatment program.
Transitions’ mission is to help people transition from the pain of addiction to the gratitude of recovery through treatment and comprehensive support services. Transitions, Inc. helps individuals, families, and communities break the cycles of substance abuse, family abuse, violence, crime, and poverty. Transitions assists the indigent, the uninsured, the homeless, and the working poor of Kentucky.
In 2013, Transitions provided 141,665 days and nights of residential care, and 17,299 days of outpatient counseling for more than 3,300 adults. More than 400 adults sleep at a Transitions’ facility every night.
The scarf design highlights Transitions’ Core Values of Recovery, Hope, Community, and an Attitude of Gratitude, or, “GRATTITUDE.” The Transitions’ logo incorporates symbols of recovery & sober housing and includes a Phoenix, which represents the recovering addict.
With your purchase of a scarf, you are not only raising awareness, but $10 will be donated to Transitions, Inc.
