Wine Down Wednesday is a charitable fundraiser in Cincinnati, Ohio that benefits Oyler School of Lower Price Hill. Oyler’s population has some of the most challenged children in our community.
Serving Pre-K through 12th grade under one principal, Oyler faces the severe hardships of poverty and homelessness of its students. The Lower Price Hill community struggles with these hardships daily, and it is Oyler’s mission to transform the community.
The proceeds from the Wine Down Wednesday event, BowTie, and scarf support the Hatmaker Foundation and Greenacres Student Transportation Fund. Hatmaker Foundation ensures that the school has the resources needed to help students excel in the classroom beyond imagination. The Greenacres Student Transportation Fund provides bussing for the students to get outside of their element and enjoy new educational experiences. Each year, over 500 students from Oyler visit Greenacres for art enrichment classes that supplement their school curriculum.
In the fall of 2013, Oyler School and BowTie Cause teamed up for a coloring contest. Students had the opportunity to submit their designs for BowTies and scarves. After sorting through dozens of designs, the committee voted and selected a design that was submitted by a high school student of Oyler.
