Andy Caress Melanoma Foundation
Andy Caress lost his battle with melanoma in August 2010 at the young age of 24. In his short life, Andy accomplished so much as a college tennis player at Coastal Carolina University. Andy was an excellent student, tennis professional, role model, loving son, brother and uncle, and a source of inspiration for many around the globe suffering from this tragic disease.
The Andy Caress Melanoma Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. In May of 2010 Andy formed the organization under the original name Mela-KNOW-More. Andy Caress Melanoma Foundation is based in Cincinnati and has volunteers all around the country.
In the early months of the organization’s formation, Andy’s family and friends rallied behind him and raised $10,000 for the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Andy was proud to present the check to Dr. Patrick Hwu, his melanoma oncologist.
During his battle, Andy realized that this disease is often misunderstood by the public as an “easy” or “lucky” cancer to get. His will was to change this misconception and the foundation is keeping his dream alive.
With your purchase of a BowTie, you are not only raising awareness, but $10 will be donated to the Andy Caress Melanoma Foundation.
