Baseball Hall of Famer, Rod Carew’s world was turned upside down in 2015 following a massive heart attack and subsequent surgery. Yet instead of retreating to his home, he knew that sharing his story publicly could mean saving lives. In January 2016, kicking of the annual TwinsFest, the Minnesota Twins and Carew launched a campaign called, Heart of 29 with a goal of raising awareness and funds for the American Heart Association throughout the 2016 baseball season and onward.

The campaign has raised thousands of dollars and garnered national media attention. Best of all, Heart of 29 has saved countless lives by raising awareness about heart disease, its symptoms and how to prevent it.

The BowTie design depicts the Heart of 29’s campaign logo and symbolizes the partnership between the Minnesota Twins, the American Heart Association and Rod Carew. By supporting the Heart of 29 and the American Heart Associations’ mission, you can help change the future for the more than 800,000 people that die from cardiovascular diseases in the United States each year.
