San Antonio Gender Association

The San Antonio Gender Association (SAGA) was founded by a transsexual woman named Christie Lee Littleton on February 14, 2003. Ms. Littleton is the same person involved in the well-known Littleton v. Prange transgender case. SAGA has sought, since its inception, to be an organization dedicated to support of and advocacy for the transgender community in San Antonio, Texas. SAGA is dedicated to the exploration of issues involving gender identity, and to the advocacy of fair and just public policy for the wider transgender community.

The organization meets on a regular basis and was recently instrumental in helping to pass fully inclusive non-discrimination ordinances in San Antonio. SAGA also offers a welcoming place for conversation and discussion to transgender persons and those who support them. Whether your term is TG, TS, TV, transgender, transsexual, cross-dresser, or ally, you are welcome.

With approximately 200 members, SAGA is representative of a broad section of the LGBT community. The BowTie design is a representation of the Transgender Pride flag. Many, including representatives from national LGBT organizations, have admitted to being unaware of the colors of the Transgender Pride Flag. SAGA looks forward to many who will now proudly display the transgender colors while aiding a grassroots transgender effort.

With  your purchase of a BowTie, you are not only raising awareness, but $10 will be donated to SAGA.
